We have become accustomed to televisions with XXL screens provided with the best technologies and services. However, they are not the only ones that we can find on the market.Do you know that there are still portable televisions designed to go on a trip?Their qualities (both in terms of construction and image and sound) are not at all comparable to those provided by the former, but to use them in a timely manner they are an alternative to consider. To do this, these mini televisions —which come with their remote— have compact dimensions and light weight that make them easy to move around. In addition, it is common for them to incorporate some connections such as a headphone output and a USB interface that not only plays image, sound and video files from a memory key. Also direct recording of programs. With a maximum budget of 200 euros, the selected mini televisions are: August DA100D (8.25), Garsent BTX7ZIGVRH (8), Lenco TFT-1028WH (6.25) and Nevir 7302-TDT10P2 (7.5).When analyzing and evaluating them, these are the aspects that have been taken into account:Over the course of a month, we have tested these four TVs.This has allowed us to examine the build quality of each of them, in particular their durability and strength. But also how is the process of tuning the signal, the duration of its batteries, and what is more important: its image and sound quality, but always bearing in mind that these televisions are not comparable to the most advanced models. The August DA100D portable television has obtained the best score. It stands out from the rest at the design level since its quality is perceived as lasting. In addition, the tuning of the channels is very good and at the level of image and sound the experience is the best of the entire comparison.Like other models in its class, it includes a support to place it as a photo frame. In addition, it has a couple of holes on the back that serve as support if we want to hang it on the wall thanks to the fact that its weight does not exceed 700 grams. It works connected to the current, yes, although we can also use this TDT television with AA batteries (they can be rechargeable): the corresponding compartment is in the rear area. What it does not integrate is a battery like the others. It has a 10-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. This display is one of the ones we liked the most, always taking into account the quality that a screen with these characteristics can offer. The sound, on the other hand, conveys good impressions: It sounds quite good and it is not necessary to turn up the volume too much.Regarding the construction (both the screen and the control), comment that both have a correct finish and that the quality of the plastic is perceived as durable.Another detail to keep in mind is that it includes two antennas: one of them is already integrated into its respective connection. In our tests, the tuning of the different channels went smoothly and only once did we experience a dropout. In addition to a headphone jack, it has a mini HDMI interface (the cable is also included), a microSD card reader compatible with models up to 32 GB and a USB port with double function: in addition to playing content (they load faster than expected) the user can record directly from the mini TV.The size of its screen is slightly larger than the others -12.1 inches- and this shows in the viewing experience. With an aspect ratio of 16:9 and LED technology, the brightness or contrast levels are among the best in the comparison. However, the viewing angle can be improved. This same impression can be transferred to the round speaker system that does not sound too loud. Its configuration and start-up is not complicated. While, the tuning of the channels does not give any problem.Once ready, we can interact with the help of the remote control that it incorporates. This control is the usual one that we find in products of this type: the difference is that the touch of its keys is more pleasant and the response is faster. The other option would be to use the physical controls available on one of the sides (the connections are located on the other). These controls have been arranged vertically, but being too close together, a person with big fingers will not be comfortable enough. Its physical connections include: AV input and output, VGA interface, headphone jack, HDMI and USB.The construction quality of the mini TV has been worked well and the detail of the support that helps it stand on the surface is one of the things that we liked the most.As for autonomy, it can be used for around five hours. With a black-coated structure and a base as a support that offers good stability, this DTT portable television has dimensions of 273 x 170 x 27 millimeters and a weight of around 3 kilograms. It has been provided with a 10.1-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. Thus, and given that its quality is a bit fair at times —depending on the content displayed— we have to 'play' with the color temperature from the settings. It is also possible to choose between different image modes such as dynamic, soft, moderate, standard... As for sound, there is the possibility of choosing between different audio modes if what we are going to see is a movie or a sporting event, among others. With automatic channel search function, it is controlled through the remote control included in your box;a control that, although at the design level has improvable details, we liked it because it is very easy to use. However, it dispenses with the classic on/off button, so we must go to one of the sides of the screen and press this button directly. The other alternative, if we want to turn it off, is to use the remote control to access the settings and activate the 'Off timer' function. The battery is recharged in about five hours and in return a range of about four and a half hours is obtained.Other data of interest are: input for headphones, USB port to record and play content, teletext and programming guide. In the box, the manufacturer includes, in addition to the remote control, a DVB-T antenna and an electrical current adapter, another specific one for the car in case the battery runs out and we want, for example, to continue using it in our vehicle if we travel with kids. The idea is fine, especially since the autonomy of this mini television is very low: it does not reach two hours. The experience with the screen -10 inches and 1,024 x 600 pixels of resolution- has disappointed us because we expected a little more image quality;especially since parameters such as brightness, color or contrast are fully customizable and when we applied the corresponding adjustments the results were not what we expected. The range of the antenna can also be improved when it tunes correctly and there are no cuts or interference. In addition to being able to interact with this portable mini TV through its remote control, it is possible to use the physical controls that it incorporates at the top to access the settings section, raise or lower the volume, or switch from one channel to another. To its 3.5-millimeter headphone jack we must add an HDMI output and a USB port that plays the content stored on the memory keys (JPEG and MP3).*All purchase prices included in this article are current as of April 27, 2022.[Remember that if you are an Amazon Prime user, all purchases have free shipping costs.Amazon offers a 30-day free, no-obligation trial.]You can follow EL PAÍS ESCAPARATE on Facebook and Instagram, or subscribe to our Newsletter here.Or subscribe to read without limitsSubscribe and read without limits
